A visit from Santa

Tonight we went to Kristin's house for a Christmas party. She had invited Santa to surprise the kids. Aidan was not to sure about him, but Ethan thought that he had brought him a vacuum. That is all that he asked Santa for tonight, well he did say a lawnmower too. Santa thought he would take him to the North Pole with him so that he could do some cleaning up there. Ethan was thrilled cause Santa had him do a special job and hold his glove while he read the kids a story. We all got to sit on Santa's lap. Even Papa Rob sat on his lap. We all had a great time.

What's been going on

Yesterday Aidan had his first of six shots to help prevent RSV (Respiratory syncytial virus). It will help prevent the bronchitis or pneumonia. It is kind of a like a flu shot, but the shot wears off every 28 to 30 days. So a visiting nurse comes to the house to give him the shot. When she was here yesterday he weighed 15# 10 oz. What a chunky monkey. He has little rolls on the back of his legs.

Tonight we are taking Ethan to his first movie at a theater. We are going to see "Bee Movie." We thought we would go to a smaller theater and then work our way up to a bigger one. I know he wants to see the movie, but he is still unsure what a theater is like. I'm sure he will love it. Nana LouAnn is going to watch Aidan and Ethan has asked that she watch his "babies" (his stuffed dog and duck) too. He was concerned that they would be all alone and he wanted her to know that they eat at 8:30. So I will have to let you know what happens at the movies and how many times he wants to run out for more popcorn and candy.

New Cousin Abby

I wanted to take a minute and welcome the newest member of out extended family. On Nov 10 at 5:40 pm, Kristin and Todd Ferris welcomed Abigail Carrie Ferris into the world. For those of you who do not know Kristin she is Matt's step-sister. And I am pretty sure when she finds out that I put this picture on the web she will kill me. But I had to show off my niece. She weighed 6# 5oz and was 20 inches long. Robin and Lou Ann are thrilled to have a granddaughter. And it will be nice to spoil a little girl. I can't wait to meet her. Congratulations Todd and Kristin.

Aidan's Halloween

Here is Aidan on Halloween. He was a"Little Pumpkin." He didn't get any candy, (Nana LouAnn gave him baby food custard). He loved walking around the neighborhood and enjoyed the warm weather. 71 on Halloween is not bad at all.

My son the Dirt Devil

I wanted to share the pictures from trick or treating last night. Ethan wanted to be a Dirt Devil vacuum. After he figured out the candy part of Halloween, he was ready to go. He liked to make conversation with everyone. He would ask if they had a vacuum, what kind it was and sometimes he would push himself inside the door to look for it. His favorite phrase was "I'm going to suck them up." We only made it down a couple of streets, but he was happy with the amount of candy he got.
He has decided that next year he will be a smoke detector. Hopefully he will forget about that by then.

New Picture of Aidan

Just an update of how cute my miracle is. We start physical therapy tomorrow.

Weekend Outing!

I thought I would post a couple of pictures. This is from this weekend. We went to Medina and made a scarecrow at the Fall Festival there. Ethan thought it was a great thing. He only has the attention span of a 3 year old so he filled the head with straw and then decided it was more fun to throw the straw then help daddy fill the clothes. He did pick out the shirt, hat and the socks. But he wanted to put a cow print pair of pants on it and we were too embarrassed to put that in front of our house. Ethan had a good time. He got candy and they read Halloween stories to the kids. I did learn this weekend that I have to talk to him more about strangers though. He won a prize by answering a question, and the question was, "what would you do if a stranger asked you to get into his car, would you go?" and he answered "yes." I explained to the lady he is only 3 and he is never allowed outside by himself. But I guess it is never to early to talk to him. I still don't think he would understand. He just said yes so she would give him the candy. Aidan was so good at the festival he slept the whole time.

Early Intervention Meeting

I sat down yesterday with the Early Intervention We have decided to have a physical therapist come in once a week and work with Aidan. The therapist said that he really doesn't need it as much as some but, it wouldn't hurt him to have someone come in and work with him. We are going to do it weekly and then we will cut the sessions down as we see fit. The therapist has goals that he would like him to meet and doing the therapy could help him to catch up to his birth age quicker. He is still considered 5 months corrected so he is meeting all of those goals.

We have our appointment next week with Children's Hosp. I just want to get it over with.

Ethan and Daddy painted the crib yesterday so finally Aidan is in a big crib. The bassinet was getting a little small for him. He likes to roll on his back and then wake us up because he can't roll back on his tummy. It is a fun game. Ethan was hoping Aidan was going to sleep in his room, but because Aidan only makes it until 5:00 am, I don't need both of them awake.

Everything else is going good, it has definitely changes to fall temperatures.

Date for the appointment

I finally got a doctors appointment for Aidan to see the neurosurgeon. We are taking him to Children's Hosp in Buffalo on October 18th. My pediatrician wanted us to go to Strong Hosp. in Rochester, but they wanted us to wait until February. I couldn't wait that long. Plus we are more comfortable in Buffalo. Keep him in your prayers.

Welcome to our new blog.

I am starting a new blog at a different site due to the fact that the other one will be shutting down. So I chose this site and hopefully I will be able to figure everything out and I will be able to make posts and also add more pictures. You can still write comments to me and I will try to get back to everyone.

Aidan is doing well. I took him to the doctor on Tuesday and he is 13# 12 ozs. He is also 24 inches long. He is babbling alot and he giggles all the time. He has the cutest smile. We were told by the doctor that he would like to have us see a neurosurgeon. He is worried about he head size. He believes that his head is growing longer from forehead to the back of the head but not from ear to ear. So I am waiting to get an appointment with Children's Hosp. His hearing test went very well and we don't have to go for an eye appointment until March now. Everything else has been going good.

Ethan is still enjoying being a big brother. He has gotten so big and repeats almost everything we say. Which is not always a good thing if you know what I mean. He is looking forward to Halloween and we are daily asked if he can go trick or treating today. I think he just wants alot of candy.
